The first GOP primary debate is set to take place in late August.

New reports have revealed that former President Trump was pressed to appear at the first Republican primary debate at a dinner by top Fox News executives on Tuesday.
The dinner was reportedly held at Trump’s Bedminster, New Jersey golf club, and was attended by the network’s President, Jay Wallace as well as Fox News CEO Suzanne Scott.
Thus far, Trump has suggested that he may not attend the first GOP primary debate. He also has been frustrated with Fox anchor Bret Baier, who is currently set to moderate the first debate alongside Martha MacCallum. The former president called Baier "nasty" after a recent interview between the two in June.
Trump has hesitated to commit to appearing at the first debate as it may present an opportunity for his primary opponents to seize a "moment" in which they may land a shot on him, according to the New York Times. The outlet claims the dinner was described as being "cordial" in its conduct.
This is a breaking story and will be updated.
