BREAKING: Newly appointed special counsel David Weiss moves to drop Hunter’s plea deal

Shortly after the announcement, it was revealed that Weiss dropped the plea deal that had been in the works with Hunter Biden in Delaware over tax crimes and a gun charge.

"Just minutes after Garland made this announcement that Weiss is going to be the Special Counsel," Peter Doocy reported on Fox, "Weiss and his team of prosecutors in Delaware, who had been trying to work out a plea deal with Hunter Biden made a court filing where they basically say the deal is off. I'm just gonna read this line from a just filed motion. It says 'during the July 26, 2023 hearing that the court set on this matter the defendant, that would be Hunter Biden, pled not guilty. Since that time, the parties have engaged in further negotiations but are at an impasse. The government now believes that the case will not resolve short of a trial.'

"That is really big news," Doocy continued, "and that means that Hunter Biden is having a really bad month because at that hearing, he went in and the prosecutors went in, he was inches away from that plea agreement that was basically going to absolve him of any kind of wrongdoing for future criminal matters. And the judge of course, said that was overbroad. But he was so close to having a plea agreement, and then just walking out of there and going about the rest of his life.

"Now, the prosecutors are saying there is most likely going to be a trial in that matter, and who knows what else the special counsel will have heard. Don't expect to get a ton from the President about this. I talked to him generally about some Hunter intrigue in New Mexico two days ago. He said that he was not involved with the business."

Hunter Biden was facing charges in Delaware for failure to pay taxes as well as a gun charge. The deal that was initially struck would have seen Hunter Biden "take responsibility for two instances of misdemeanor failure to file tax payments when due pursuant to a plea agreement. A firearm charge, which will be subject to a pretrial diversion agreement and will not be the subject of the plea agreement, will also be filed by the Government," per his attorney Chris Clark in June.

That plea deal fell apart in July when Hunter Biden entered a Delaware court room and the judge discovered that as part of the diversion agreement for the gun charge, Hunter Biden would be precluded from being brought up on any future charges for not having registered as a foreign agent while engaging in business deals overseas. The judge was aghast that this should be part of a gun diversion deal, and sent the deal back to be renegotiated.

Hunter Biden then entered a plea of not guilty to all charges.

This is a breaking story and will be updated.
