BREAKING: RFK Jr. throws support to Trump, slams media as Democrat ‘mouthpieces,’ as he officially suspends 2024 presidential campaign

RFK began his speech by ripping into the Democratic Party, saying that it used to be the party that stood for free speech, the working class, and other causes. He complimented the work of his campaign and the sacrifices that people made for his candidacy.

He said, “In an honest system, I believe that I would have won the election. In a system with a fairly scheduled debate, with fair primaries, and with a truly independent media untainted by government propaganda; in a system of nonpartisan courts and election boards, everything would be different.”

“The DNC dragged us into court, state after state, attempting to erase their work and to subvert the will of the voters who signed those petitions,” he added. “It deployed DNC aligned judges throw me and other candidates off the ballot and to throw President Trump in jail.”

He then tore into the Democrats for the "coup" against Biden, placing Kamala Harris as the nominee for the 2024 election: "I do interviews everyday. Everyone who asks gets to interview me. Sometimes I do 10 a day. President Trump also does many interviews. How could the Democrat Party choose a candidate who refuses to do an interview? How did the Democratic Party choose a candidate that has never done interview or debate during the entire election cycle? We know the answers. They did it by weaponizing the government agencies. They did it by abandoning democracy. They did it by suing the opposition and by disenfranchising American voters."

He addressed the media, saying, "Instead of maintaining that posture of fierce skepticism toward authority, your institutions have made themselves government mouthpieces." He then addressed how social media has colluded with the federal government to censor Americans and that the First Amendment has been under attack.

"Three great causes ... persuaded me to leave the Democratic Party, to throw my support to President Trump," he said in his speech. Kennedy said those issues that inspired him to support Trump were the causes of "free speech, the war in Ukraine, [and the] war on our children." He then addressed chronic diseases, and how they are affecting children in the US.

Kennedy revealed that Trump and him met and spoke about how they could unite “forces as a Unity Party" after they spoke about the issues of chronic illness in America. Although he said that he would throw his support behind Trump, he added, "I am not terminating my campaign. I am simply suspending it."

Kennedy said that he would be pulling his ballots from 10 battleground states throughout the country.

"I've made the heart wrenching decision to suspend my campaign and support President Trump. This decision is agonizing for me because of the difficulties it causes my wife and my children and my friends, but I have the certainty that this is what I've meant to do," Kennedy added. He said he made the choice through deep prayer, and wants to help heal America from the chronic illness crisis.

He added that he wanted to being a spirit of unity and kindness into the Trump campaign. "That's the spirit of which I ran the campaign, and that I intend to bring into the campaign President Trump." He added that the "most unifying theme for all Americans is that we all love our children," adding "If we all unite around that issue now, we can finally give them the protection."

Kerry Kennedy, his sister, posted in light of RFK Jr.'s announcement, saying that Kennedy's "decision to endorse Trump today is a betrayal of the values our father and our family hold most dear."

His running mate Nicole Shanahan said in an interview earlier this week that the options were to continue the campaign, or to drop out and endorse Trump. She said the Democrat Party worked hard, using lawfare and other means, to get RFK Jr. to stop running.

Earlier this week, Kennedy, 70, said "I am going to address the nation this Friday," and leading up to the announcement, Kennedy withdrew his papers to register for the election in Arizona. This led to rumors that Kennedy will be appear on stage with Donald Trump in Arizona after his announcement, and Trump has said he will have a special guest at his Turning Point Action event at 5 pm. Kennedy will also endorse Trump for the 2024 race.

On Thursday night Trump told reporters, “I have no idea if he’s going to endorse me. It’s possible we will be meeting tomorrow, and we’ll be discussing it.” Kennedy's campaign has faced an uphill battle in many respects, from the Biden-Harris administration refusing to offer Secret Service protection for him to facing legal battles to get on the ballot in different states.

Kennedy was able to do one of the most followed independent campaigns in America and is a member of the Kennedy family. His father served as attorney general as well as Senator before seeking a bid for President and his uncle is former President John F. Kennedy, both were assassinated, per the Associated Press.

Kennedy has a history of activism for environmental causes and has taken issue with the handling of the COVID-19 pandemic and vaccine mandates. He has also taken issue with Big Pharma during his campaign, saying that he would dismantle the healthcare bureaucracy and direct the National Institutes of Health to focus on treating chronic conditions instead of infectious diseases.

During the campaign, like in the press conference from Friday, he has expressed his dissatisfaction with the Democrat Party, which he once claimed membership in.
