A jury found 75-year-old Tom Barrack, a friend of former president Donald Trump, not guilty on Friday of acting as a foreign agent on behalf of the United Arab Emirates during the Trump administration, obstructing justice, and lying to the FBI.
NBC reports that after the verdict, Barrack thanked the jury and said, "I'm so moved by them and the system" adding "God bless America" and "The system is amazing."

In a federal court in Brooklyn, he had been accused of acting as an unregistered foreign agent and then lying about that role.
It took the jury about two hours of deliberations to acquit Barrack of the charges.
A former fundraiser and longtime friend of Trump, Barrack was accused by the prosecution of providing the United Arab Emirates (UAE) intelligence on the White House and Trump's campaign in 2016.
The foreign agent charge would have carried up to 10 years in prison.
Barrack, a billionaire who acted as the chairman of Trump’s inaugural committee, said he simply made comments praising the UAE of his own accord.
A co-defendant Matthew Grimes was also found not guilty of a foreign agent charge.
