BREAKING: Tucker Carlson tells Russell Brand he hopes Trump and RFK Jr win their primaries

In the video, Carlson said, "Bobby Kennedy and Trump will both have a very tough time getting the nomination." He added, "I'm hoping that both of them will [win], of course."

"I'm hoping that their message will be heard," Carlson continued. "I don't know. I don't even know what I hope for in the process itself, but I want them to be heard. And they can now be heard. Because there are channels of information that people can tune into and listen."

Earlier in the interview, Carlson said he made a mistake getting involved in American politics, admitting that he is not a "very astute political analyst." He said he made a mistake in getting involved in politics, pointing toward predictions he made in the November 2022.

He said, "I'm not interested in politics. I never have been interested in politics. I'm interested in ideas. I'm interested in people."

Carlson later said he did not plan to comment on the potential outcomes of the primaries, but also added that, ten years from now, "I think we're going to see Trump's emergence as the most significant thing to happen in American politics in 100 years, because he reoriented the Republican Party against the wishes of Republican leaders."

He went on to compare Trump and RFK Jr. to Ross Perot and Teddy Roosevelt, the latter of which is one of America's most popular presidents in history. Carlson noted that these leaders' success came from what they criticized.

"Teddy Roosevelt grew up rich. Of course, in New York, Trump, Bobby Kennedy is famous, [from] one of [the] most famous families in the world, in modern history, the Kennedys, and certainly the most famous family in democratic politics," he said. "So these are people who know how the system works because they benefited from the system. And so their critique is much more meaningful and much more effective, I would say, because they can bear witness to what they have seen."

In an Echelon Insights poll taken between June 26-29, former President Trump holds the lead in the Republican primary with the support of 56 percent of voters in battleground states. The poll also showed Trump leading President Joe Biden for the White House by seven percentage points.

A YouGov poll released in June showed RJK Jr. with the highest favorability rating among all presidential candidates with 49 percent.
