View on XFollowing backlash and the eventual removal of his post, Olbermann suggested that his words had been misconstrued, but still noted that he wished Trump an unpleasant death.
"I know nobody with an IQ greater than a halibut's has believed Fox News since 1996 but even from their whores this is idiotic," he wrote. "The RT clearly shows I'm hoping Trump's right, that he IS treated worse than Lincoln. As I've said for 9 years: THAT HE'S CONVICTED, THEN DIES IN PRISON."
In his remarks, Trump suggested that he was the most persecuted president in history.
"You've heard of Andrew Jackson," Trump remarked. "He was actually a great general and a very good president. They say that he was persecuted as president more than anybody else. Second was Abraham Lincoln ... but in all fairness he did have a Civil War, so you would think that would cause a problem, right?"
"Nobody comes close to Trump," he continued, explaining how he has been targeted both during and after his presidency.
