Lawless Seattle sees several injured in illegal car races as defunded police unable to stop unrest

According to sources inside the Seattle Police Department (SPD), the department was so understaffed last week that an entire sector was left vulnerable while the only available officers drew security detail for the Mayor.

"No cops in BS (Boy Sector) tonight 3 watch hours. But they got … working the Mayor detail. Basically her private security. But no cops for taxpayers of Wallingford, Freemont and Ballard," a source told The Post Millennial.

Even before the defunding, SPD was operating at 60 percent of capacity. Officers were working double shifts regularly as well as massive amounts of overtime. Other sources in SPD have told The Post Millennial how bad it has gotten.

"We lost over 100 officers so far this year and it's only September. Well trained, experienced officers are being lured away by other departments. The quartermaster is so busy that you have to make an appointment to return your gear," the source said.

In 2019, SPD lost over 120 officers to retirement, resignations, and transfers. The police academy is not currently recruiting or producing enough officers to cover the gap, with some trainees quitting before the training was complete. Higher ranking officers and officers from defunded specialty units are being moved to patrol duty to try and handle the lack of man power.

When asked about this, our source said there were "No officers for US and BS last night but we had two officers on the mayor's detail. They preach to the media but as soon as it's their own residence they show their true colors."

This summer, rioters began targeting the homes of Seattle public officials. Protesters led by Marxist Council Member Kshama Sawant vandalized the mayor's home. The mayor's address had been masked because of threats she received while a US attorney, but Sawant led them to her home. Demonstrators also showed up at the homes of most of the other city council members, including those that defunded SPD.

Meanwhile riots continue to plague the city. Rioters have grown more aggressive in the wake of the defunding, even trying to re-establish the Capitol Hill Occupied Protest last night, in the process drawing officers away from other parts of the city.

"2nd North had seven today," one source inside SPD said, "and there is a full blown riot in the east so citywide 3rd was sent to east and 2nd watch is still 'handling calls.'"

Following the riots on Saturday night, street racers took advantage of the cop-free situation near the Space Needle.

Two people were reportedly hit during the racing activity. Saturday night saw massive riots in progress and hundreds racing on city streets, yet the mayor's protection detail continued.

"North still has seven, but two still on mayor detail of course nearly 1/3rd of the north patrol is at the Mayors house," SPD sources said.
