Leftist academic arrested after Trantifa attack women’s rights conference in San Francisco

According to Reduxx, around 100 members of the Women’s Declaration International US chapter attended the Saturday conference, held at the Chinatown Hilton conference center.

At the event, women spoke on issues such as the right to free speech in academia as a female, and issues concerning black women, lesbians, and detransitioned women.

33-year-old Casey Goonan was reportedly arrested and charged with felony vandalism and resisting arrest resulting in injuries to an officer, with two members of the SFPD being injured during his alleged attempt to escape arrest.

Goonan, who has a PhD in African Studies from Northwestern, was arrested at around 2:45 pm on Saturday.

Outside of the event, Antifa members scaled a locked gate and attempted to attack women’s rights activists K Yang and Meghan Murphy, who had been standing outside with a sign that read "United Nations 'gender identity' the big lie."

A large crowd, many of whom were dressed in black, blocked an intersection outside the hotel, holding signs that read "TERFs off our turf" and F*ck your hate," and waving trans price flags.

K Yang told The Post Millennial, "From coast to coast --NYC to San Francisco-- I have faced violence from masked men calling themselves Antifa and trans rights activists...for daring to peacefully stand up for the quickly disappearing social & legal rights of women & girls in America and around the world."

"I brought my signs to San Francisco to make clear the connection between the loss of female sex based rights with the agendas of the United Nations. The United Nations Sustainable Development Goals are a blueprint for global female erasure and so-called trans rights activists and Antifa are acting as foot soldiers attempting to terrorize women into submission."

Yang said she facilitated a panel at the conference called "Desisted Women," and spoke on a panel called "Bridging the Gap."

"As a former trans rights activist and programmer at an LGBT nonprofit who used to identify as non-binary and used they/them pronouns-- I facilitated a panel at the WDI conference called, "Desisted Women" which gave a platform to the voices of young women and teen girls who we're groomed into trans identities and have since re-identified with their biological sex."

"I also spoke on a panel called "Bridging the Gap" where I made my position very clear that opposing gender identity ideology is in no way racist or white supremacist like trans rights activists like to claim. TRAs chanted at us, 'no TERFS, no KKK, no fascist USA.' They are the true fascists who use violence to impose their ideologies. Replacing sex with gender identity in federal and international human rights law is incompatible with the preservation of sex-based provisions for women and girls of all races, ethnicities, religions, and backgrounds," Yang said.

Kara Dansky, president of WDI USA, told Reduxx that protestors began entering the Hilton and "essentially terrorizing hotel guests and security alike."

Antifa members attempted to enter the building through a third-floor entrance, after which hotel security forced them away from the doors.

To prevent entry, hotel staff locked nearly all doors and access points into the hotel, leaving only the front door for guests to enter and leave the building while security kept protestors away.

Police later arrived at the scene and secured the entrance, with footage showing four officers in place on an indoor bridge connecting the conference center and hotel.

Photos from the area showed vandalism calling for violence against the women, with one poster stating "millions of dead TERFs."

At one point, one of the activists outside smashed the Hilton’s outdoor sign with a hammer.

In an attempt to prevent further damage, a hotel manager tried to intervene. The activists outside reportedly punched the staff member in the head.
