A far-left New York City professor and artist who threatened a reporter with a machete has managed to find a new teaching gig just months after the incident took place.
Shellyne Rodriguez, 45, is now listed as an adjunct instructor at the Cooper Union, a private college in Manhattan's NoHo neighborhood, where she is teaching a 3-credit sculpture class.
On its website, the school describes Rodriguez as "a Bronx-based artist, educator, writer, community organizer and public intellectual" who "documents the ways in which the diverse social fabric of a place is rewoven as people and cultures coexist."
While Rodriguez has had a successful career as an artist, it has been overshadowed by her actions. She first gained notoriety in May after a video of her berating pro-life students tabling at Hunter College went viral.

She suggested that the students' actions were "bullsh*t," "violent," and "triggering" to her students.

"Get the f*ck away from my door or I'm gonna chop you up with this machete!" she yelled shortly after Fenton identified himself.
The team left the building, however, Rodriguez pursued them with her machete.
A spokesperson for Hunter College, where Rodriguez was employed at the time, said the school was "outraged" by her actions and has promised a "swift and appropriate response."
She was soon fired, and subsequently charged with harassment, menacing, and weapons possession.
As ARTnews reports, Rodriguez accused the school of having "capitulated" to "racists, white nationalists, and misogynists."
"As much as this incident has stakes for my life, it is ultimately just one part of a broader political struggle taking place across the country," she said in a statement, accusing "right wing media organizations" of "weaponizing and sensationalizing this case to further their agenda, and using me as a prism through which to project their attacks on women, trans people, black people, Latinx people, migrants, and beyond."
