A tweet from a BBC journalist has resurfaced that states, "HitlerWasRight," sparking an internal investigation into the matter.
BBC journalist Tala Halawa posted a tweet on July 20, 2014, that claimed that "Israel is more Nazi than Hitler" and said that the Israeli Defense Forces should "go to hell," the Daily Mail reported. Also included in Halawa's tweet, who writes in her Twitter bio that she is located in the West Bank city of Ramallah, were the hashtags "PrayForGaza" and "HitlerWasRight."

View on XA screenshot of the tweet, which Halawa originally posted before becoming a reporter at the BBC, was posted by Honest Reporting on Twitter. The account describes itself as "promoting fairness and accuracy in media coverage of Israel."
"Halawa directly influences and creates news content watched by many millions around the world," wrote Honest Reporting on Sunday. "In what world can someone like this work for a professional news outlet?"
A BBC spokesperson told the Daily Mail that the matter is being investigated: "These tweets predate the individual's employment with the BBC but we are nevertheless taking this very seriously and are investigating."
Also revealed by Honest Reporting was a Facebook post from Halawa showing an image that suggests the relocation of Israel to the middle of the United States, as well as tweets stating, "ur media is produced by ur zionist government in order 2 produce ignorant people," "#Zionists can't get enough of our blood," and "they're are crying the holocaust every single moment but they're practicing it every single moment as well."
A CNN contributor was put on blast for similar tweets earlier this month. Twitter users dug up tweets dating back to 2014 from freelance reporter Adeel Raja that praised Hitler, stating "Hail Hitler," while another tweet posted the day before states that he supported Germany in the Soccer World Cup Final was because "Hitler was a German and he did good with those Jews."
