Seattle social justice crusader teaches ethnic studies course that asks ‘The Jewish Question’

On Twitter, Manhattan Institute senior fellow and journalist Chris Rufo wrote, "The leader of the Washington State ethnic studies curriculum invokes the 'Jewish question' and rails against 'white Jews' who 'insist that their experiences with oppression and genocide are somehow unique.' She suggests that Jews might 'benefit' from it."

Tracy Castro-Gill, who previously served as Seattle Public Schools' Ethnic Studies Program Manager, has also have lied about her upbringing, married a child molester, and potentially pressured her child into becoming gender-nonbinary.

In her academic work she posed the question, "What is The Jewish Question?" in her Jewishness and Ethnic Studies A Dialogue curriculum.

"We enter this argument because some conservative, white Jews argue that the focus on indigeneity in ethnic studies is intentionally antisemitic and is used to consider Irael a settler-colonial state," Castro-Gill wrote.

"Some Jews believe all Jews are indigenous to Israel and have a right to take the land back from Palestinians," she added. Castro-Gill noted how she and Treistman disagree on the term 'settler-colonial,' as it applies to Israel, but "we do agree that the actions of the Isaeli State are crimes against humanity."

Rufo notes, "The discipline of ethnic studies, like critical race theory, relies on insidious racial stereotyping and scapegoating. In Washington State, the government has announced its intention to make the ethnic studies curriculum, designed in part by this woman, a graduation requirement."

She continued, "Why do white Jews, in particular, insist that their experiences with oppression and genocide are somehow unique? There are far more exampled of genocide among people of the global majority than white Jews."

She then said white Jews benefit as a form of privilege from this narrative in the same way asians benefit from the stereotype that they are good in math. And that these are "model minority" tropes that are anti-black.

"The concepts of indigeneity and Zionism are being used to fuel attacks on ethnic studies scholars of color," she said.

Rufo notes that Ethnic Studies' "targets generally include European-Americans, Jewish-Americans, and Asian-Americans—all of whom are deemed oppressors."

The Daily Wire explored Castro-Gill's "Ethnic Studios" curriculum in the November, noting how she asked, "How do we hold white Jews who are complicit in Whiteness (racism) accountable when they use their Jewishness to try to cover their deeds??"

Emily Alhadeff wrote in 2021 on Ethnic Studies, Castro-Gill, and how the course was "cultivating activists."
