‘This is a leader of a nation’: Tucker Carlson on Trump after the assassination attempt

"When [Trump] stood up after being shot in the face, bloodied, and put his hand up, I though at that moment, this was a transformation," Carlson said in the RNC speech. "He was no longer just a political party’s nominee. This was the leader of a nation."

Carlson said that the president and other titles doesn't automatically make you a leader. Carlson said that being a leader is a very different thing than something like being the nominee of a political party, saying that it is not a "title" but something that is "organic."

"You can't name someone a leader, a leader is the bravest man. That's what a leader is. That is true in all human organizations. This is a law of nature, and it that moment, Donald Trump months before the presidential election became the leader of this nation."

Carlson added that he thought the experience changed Trump after he had been shot.

Earlier on Saturday, when at the Butler, Pennsylvania rally Thomas Matthew Crooks, 20, attempted to assassinate the 45th president. Trump was struck in the ear and was spared; however, two men were critically injured, and another passed away in the audience, being struck in the head by the gunfire.
