Recent polling showed that former President Trump has continued to gain the support of young voters.
In the latest Harvard Youth Poll released this week, the former president received the support of 37 percent of those polled between the ages of 18-29 compared to 45 percent for President Biden. At this same point in 2020, Biden held a 23-point lead among these voters, according to Politico.

View on RumbleInstitute of Politics at Harvard (IOP) Director Setti Warren said of the poll, "Young people today have clear concerns about where our country is headed."
"From worries about the economy, foreign policy, immigration, and climate, young people across the country are paying attention and are increasingly prepared to make their voices heard at the ballot box this November," he explained.
A Reuters/Ipsos poll from March showed the margins between the two candidates were even closer; among those 18-29 years old 29 percent favored President Biden compared to 26 percent for former President Trump. The rest were undecided or unsure of the candidate they were supporting.
According to Reuters, Biden won the youth vote by 24 points in 2020, which makes the current 3-point difference a significant gain for former president Trump.
23-year-old Isayah Turner told the outlet, "I cannot think of one thing that Trump did that upset me while he was in office. And now with Biden in office, there are countless things I disagree with." He noted, "A lot of my friends are on the same page as me."
Another young person, 26-year-old security guard Steve Wendt said, "I make decent money and I can't afford a home on the salary I make now."
"It's time to get a man back into office that is going to lower our prices."
Reuters noted that the economy and inflation were the most common reasons for the 20 people they interviewed to support former President Trump, with 15 of them citing it.
20-year-old Caitlyn Huenink revealed that she has seen many among her friend group become more open to Republicans.
"They're more open to the way I think and more of my friends are becoming Republican," she told the outlet.
These shifts were noticed in the March Marist College poll as well when Trump led Biden by 2 points among Gen Z and Millenials. The poll revealed that 61 percent of those between 18-29 disapprove of Biden's performance.
