WATCH: Biden says masks have divided America in flub-filled address

While his speech was full of gaffes, as they usually are, his message was all about the vaccine effort. The administration and the CDC have said essentially that getting vaccinated is the key to gaining back those freedoms that Americans both relinquished and had suppressed during the lockdown fervor that swept the US when COVID made an appearance in 2o2o.

While many vaccines have been injected into the arms of Americans, there is still concern among many about the necessity of the vaccine. To those people, Biden offered reasons to withdraw their hesitation.

"Americans have a vaccination about as close as their house is to a neighborhood school. We're also going to slip vaccines directly to pediatricians," he said. "Ship them to pediatricians during the following weeks so parents and their children can talk to their family doctor about it and get the shot from a provider they trust the most, easy, fast and free."

It is worth noting that as of yet, vaccines from Pfizer, Moderna, and Johnson & Johnson have not been approved for use in children. Children have also been found to not be significant vectors of this disease.

As to the reasons to get vaccinated, Biden said that if you're not vaccinated you're simply risking death. He spoke about the "five million Americans, of every background, who are fully protected, from one of the deadliest pandemics in our history. Y'know there's alot of misinformation out there, but there's one fact that I want every American to know: People who are not fully vaccinated can still die every day from COVID-19. Look at the folks in your community who have been vaccinated and our out there living their lives, their full lives."

"The good news is that last week the CDC said that vaccinated people do not need to wear their masks outside unless they are in very crowded settings like a sporting event. And if we can continue to drive vaccinations up and caseloads down we'll need our mask even less and less.

"I know it will take time to get everyone to get everything back to normal. Y'know we're all going to have to be patient with one another. Masks have needlessly divided this country. Masking, as directed, is a patriotic duty, but so is treating each other with respect and patience," the president said.
