Nikki Haley, former US Ambassador to the United Nations, said during an interview Sunday on Fox News that giving oil money to Russia is "absolute lunacy," urging that it's time the Biden administration holds the energy superpower accountable by withholding investment in Russian oil.
Haley outlined over the weekend on "Sunday Morning Futures" what steps need to be taken by the United States to curb Russian aggression in the region.
"Stop reacting and start leading," Haley told Fox News host Maria Bartiromo.
Going specific, Haley said: "First of all, work with Ukraine on real-time intelligence so that we can tell them everything that's happening that they can't see."
Haley emphasized that the US needs to "make sure that we send anti-tank, anti-air missiles immediately" and also to "make sure that we are telling Poland and NATO that they've got to supply these planes to Ukraine." Haley's statement came on the same day Secretary of State Antony Blinken said that NATO member nations have the "green light" to send fighter jets to Ukraine amid the ongoing conflict.
"They need them right away so they can cover their own airspace," Haley said.
On the economic front, Haley stated during the segment, "We've got to make sure we sanction these energy companies, all of them. We've got to make sure that we pull them out of the international banking system," she added.
"And we need to stop taking any Russian oil. The idea that we would give our money to an enemy is unthinkable, and it's absolute lunacy. We can't allow this to continue," Haley concluded, slamming President Joe Biden's leadership.
