Twitter's most recent target on their campaign to shut down opposing voices is James Lindsay—creator of New Discourses and one of the most prominent critics of woke ideology.

The Twitter account @a_centrism posted a tweet late Wednesday evening, tweeting: "Lindsay has tripled his followers over the last couple of weeks as he has intensified his attack on some of the theoretical bases of contemporary Social Justice activism. Apparently this has not gone unnoticed."

Peter Boghossian weighed in on the issue as well, tweeting: ". @ConceptualJames goes on @joerogan and gets over 2 million views in under a week. His book, Cynical Theories, hits the top 100 on amazon. @ConceptualJames then get locked out of his Twitter account."

Lindsay had partnered with Boghossian and Helen Pluckrose of Areo Magazine on what is now known as the Grievance Studies Affair in 2017 and 2018—a campaign that featured the trio writing and submitting bogus academic papers to top-tier academic journals in cultural, queer, race, gender, fat, and sexuality studies in an effort to determine if they could pass through peer review and be accepted for publication. Of the several paper submitted, 4 of them were accepted and published with an additional 3 accepted but not yet published.

The Post Millennial reached out to Lindsay about what he thought the reason was for his Twitter restriction, and he said: "They haven't told me what happened, and they haven't replied to my help ticket request."

"I've heard this kind of restriction happens from "suspicious activity" like following many people in a short period of time, but I only follow about 200 people total and definitely wasn't doing a mass follow. I had responded to a DM and was working on Encyclopedia entries (ironically 'exclusion') when it happened."

Lindsay added that he was in no hurry to speculate as to what happened, adding that "I can say I wasn't engaging in unusual activity, and I had no notification that would suggest I was hacked. Someone has emailed to say that her replies to my tweets are getting tons of weird replies that suddenly vanish, so maybe not activity is swarming around my account."

"Then again, others suggested I must be hacked because we shared an article in German on New Discourses yesterday, but it was a translation of one of our existing essays, so yet again lived experience proves an unreliable epistemology."

Lindsay has also recently appeared on the Joe Rogan Experience:

Lindsay's Twitter restriction comes as the social media giant has cracked down on voices that oppose left-leaning politics, such as President Donald Trump, Carpe Donktum, Katie Hopkins, and Raheem Kassam.
