A deep dive into Tye Reed’s social media turned up tweets during the George Floyd riots of 2020 advocating for communism and violence, even against Democrats and people of color.
Nicole Thomas-Kennedy, the radical Antifa supporting candidate running for Seattle City Attorney, who has pledged not to prosecute many types of offenses, has been dogged by hundreds of tweets that she posted in 2020 which supported rioters, celebrated property destruction, and demonized police.
The backlash has been so severe that many Democrats have endorsed her opponent, Republican Ann Davison.
Now the spotlight has been turned on Thomas-Kennedy’s campaign manager Tye Reed. A deep dive into Reed’s social media by Fox 13 turned up tweets during the George Floyd riots of 2020 advocating for communism and violence, even against Democrats and people of color.
Seattle City Attorney candidate and abolitionist Nicole Thomas-Kennedy isn't the only one in her political orbit guilty of sending vile tweets. Her campaign manager's feed is full of violent rhetoric - some of it directed at sitting Democratic leaders. #FOX13 pic.twitter.com/mP97RFfFvY

Reed suggested that then- Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden should die after a June 2020 speech he gave on race and social justice.
"Prayers the victim is a kkkop," Reed tweeted on Oct. 2, 2020, in response to a post about a shooting in the city. She also called for resigning police officers to be executed.
The Post Millennial found a tweet Reed posted during the riots following George Floyd’s death which read, "Tonight was intense but I've never been more resolved in my life. I say this with complete severity. These pigs are not human. They aren't here to help ANYONE. They will kill us where we stand. And I won't be living in fear."
Reed attacked then-Seattle Police Chief Carmen Best on the platform, the first black female police chief in the city’s history. "This is exactly the job of Carmen Best. She will shuck and jive herself into a mansion just like every other Uncle Tom motherf*cker benefiting off the suffering of black folks. Take off that badge and see how important your life is then, Chief."
The attacks on fellow black people were common on Reed’s account. The Post Millennial discovered a tweet from Jan 2021 which read, "No more King quotes. Give this Black b*tch yer money."
Reed even advocated for communism on November 25, 2020 when she wrote, "This isn't about a whether our society values good ideas or not. I’m saying I’m a communist who votes every year and i have no one to vote for with policies I believe in. Instead, I have bs govt leaders not doing sh*t while I’m spending hundreds a month donating to mutual aid." She has also been featured on Socialism.com, website for the Freedom Socialist Party.
Those sentiments are in line with Thomas-Kennedy's deleted tweets, which called for the overthrow of capitalism and advocated for communism while discussing her hatred for America.
The Post Millennial recently exposed that Thomas-Kennedy, who is campaigning to oversee the office’s $35 million budget, declared bankruptcy, has a massive amount of debt, and lives in subsidized housing.
During the armed insurrection against the United States by Antifa and BLM armed terrorists which seized control of six blocks of Seattle and declared an "autonomous zone," Reed tweeted, "Just had to explain to my dear mother who lives in Kansas that antifa is not threatening people in the CHAZ and the media are lying to stir up fear. Just democracy tingz."
Reed wrote on June 3, 2020, "That b*tch Mayor Durkan … is gonna get her a** beat one day," referencing Seattle Democrat Mayor Jenny Durkan.
Following the publication of the Fox 13 article, Durkan’s office released a statement which read in part, "It is troubling that violent rhetoric towards city officials is coming from the leader of a candidate’s campaign for City Attorney, an office that represents those city officials and who will have to serve all Seattle residents."
Mayor Durkan’s office just put out a statement: “It is troubling that violent rhetoric towards city officials is coming from the leader of a candidate’s campaign for City Attorney – an office that represents those city officials and who will have to serve all Seattle residents.” https://t.co/JDPePArJwo pic.twitter.com/e35iUv9RzQ

Durkan herself has been a target of Antifa and BLM rioters. During the riots in the summer of 2020, rioters went to her house, an undisclosed address from her time as a US Attorney, and vandalized the property.
Reed can be seen wearing a t-shirt showing a burning Seattle Police Department SUV and the words "This is a policy proposal" in a picture posted to Nicole Thomas-Kennedy’s campaign Facebook page on Sept. 16, 2021.
This is Tye Reed on the left. Here she is next to Thomas-Kennedy and current @SeattleCouncil member Tammy Morales at an event just last month. Note the t-shirt.

In the picture, Reed is standing next to Socialist City Councilwoman Tammy Morales, who previously supported looters during the summer of 2020 and has endorsed Thomas-Kennedy.
Reed’s LinkedIn profile adds that in addition to the campaign manager position, she is also a field organizer for the radical activist group the Seattle Transit Riders Union, which endorsed by Thomas-Kennedy and Morales for their campaigns as well as other socialists, anarchists and Marxists.
After the tweets were exposed, Reed restricted access to her Twitter profile.
FOX 13’s Hana Kim asked Thomas-Kennedy Wednesday about her campaign manager. Thomas-Kennedy replied, "she can speak for herself" and added, "I think that she’s a black woman in America that has seen a lot of people that look like her being killed by police and she was probably pretty angry about that."
Today I questioned Nicole Thomas Kennedy about the vile and hateful comments made by her campaign manager. It was one part of a long interview. The full story on Seattle’s city attorney race airs next week. #Fox13Seattle. https://t.co/lnwmSifrF1

One of Thomas-Kennedy’s campaign staff threatened to end the interview if Kim’s questions continued to be about Reed.
Fox 13 added that the Chair of the Washington State Democratic Party, Tina Podlodowski, has been critical of Thomas-Kennedy's opponent, but when asked to comment about Reed’s violent tweets directed at Democrats, State Democratic Party Spokesperson Alex Bond said Podlodowski's criticism of Davison "…does not equate to an official endorsement of Thomas-Kennedy."
"To be clear: we don't believe people should wish violence upon elected officials or anyone else. But the individual whose tweets you've screenshotted doesn't appear to have much affection for the Democratic Party or our elected officials and doesn’t work for us, so I'm not sure how or why our party would answer for inflammatory and irresponsible statements they might make."
