Jeremy P Williams initially faced 13 charges in the case, but pleaded guilty in January to three counts of possession of depictions of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct as part of a plea deal.
A former Oregon principal who had been suspended for comments he made about Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk in the wake of his killing has been sentenced to five years and one month in prison for possession and sharing of child sex abuse images.
50-year-old Jeremy P Williams of Longview, WA, who had served as the principal for Rainier Junior/Senior High School in Oregon between 2022 and his retirement in November 2025, had been arrested on September 16. At the time of his arrest, Williams had already been on paid administrative leave for "making negative comments about slain conservative activist Charlie Kirk," the Oregonian reported.
He initially faced 13 charges in the case, but pleaded guilty in January to three counts of possession of depictions of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct as part of a plea deal with prosecutors, per the Daily News.
Cowlitz County Superior Court Judge Thad Scudder sentenced Williams to 61 months in prison, and required that he register as a sex offender for the next 15 years and serve 36 months of community custody after his prison sentence. Williams was also ordered to pay $3,000 in court fees.
A pre-sentencing investigation report stated that Williams had told authorities he sought out online communities to make connections through writing erotica that featured children, and had been having difficulties at work and home. This eventually turned into sharing explicit images of minors.
Williams said in a February 4 interview with authorities that writing the erotic short stories had made him feel popular and powerful because only he could provide what people online were seeking. He said that his pieces won a few competitions.
A woman had reached out to him online to role-play and write stories for her, and eventually shared an explicit image of a young girl with Williams. This turned into the two of them sharing sexual images of children with each other. Williams admitted to authorities that he shared a video of a six-month-old baby with a person online. He said he did not do anything sexual with his students.
Williams said he had endured "religious trauma" due to being raised by Christian fundamentalist parents who taught him to believe that if he did anything "bad or had bad thoughts," he would go to hell.
