When questioned on February 13, 2025, at his home, Dalberg admitted to targeting the vehicles, allegedly calling his actions "dumb and stupid."
According to NBC10, authorities arrested 63-year-old Alaric Dalberg and charged him with harassment, disorderly conduct, and related offenses.
Police claim that Dalberg deliberately targeted vehicles in areas where individuals had displayed pro-Trump signs or expressed support for Trump.
Investigators say Dalberg admitted to throwing nails and screws in these locations, referring to Trump supporters as "Trumpers." Officials claim the incidents occurred multiple times, starting on October 30, 2024. That case, one of the first reported cases, occurred overnight on Newtown-Yardley Road, where a contractor found nails and screws scattered near a property displaying a large inflatable Trump figure and Trump-Vance campaign signs.
The next day, a McCaffrey's Food Market employee told police she discovered nails and screws around her vehicle after leaving work. Another incident on November 1, 2024, involved a homeowner who found screws on his property and later had a nail puncture his tire. This property also displayed pro-Trump signs, police said.
Surveillance footage led police to identify Dalberg as a suspect. When questioned on February 13, 2025, at his home, Dalberg admitted to targeting the vehicles, allegedly calling his actions "dumb and stupid."
Police said Dalberg did not see any Trump signage but had overheard the victim expressing support for Trump while shopping. He reportedly told police, "How could you support him?"
Dalberg is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on April 25, 2025. His attorney told NBC10 that he is cooperating with police and intends to address the matter in court.
