Police are looking for suspects after a five-week old puppy was stolen during a home invasion earlier this month in Brampton.
The Peel Regional Police stated in a news release that the incident happened on July 12 at a home in the area of Great Lakes Drive and Sandalwood Parkway.
According to CP24, police believe a group of suspects armed with guns made their way into the home when the crime took place. Seven people were in the house – three adults and four children.
Police speculate that the suspects assaulted one man after forcing their way into the house, and then stole property which included a five-week old American Bulldog puppy. The suspects then drove away in a dark-colored BMW with two doors.
"Investigators are asking the public to report any information regarding the stolen puppy," police said in a written statement. "The puppy responds to Dreams or Dreamy and is currently recovering from surgery and will require medication."
