The video comes after a 26-year-old Colombian man was fatally shot by an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent Monday.
Massachusetts Democratic Rep. Seth Moulton released a video on X calling for the abolition of ICE and urging people to fight and in what he described as the battle against the agency. The video comes after a 26-year-old Colombian man was fatally shot by an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent Monday during an enforcement operation in Biddeford, Maine, after agents said he used his car as a weapon against law enforcement.
“If you don’t think this is f*cked up, then you don't know what it means to be an American,” Moulton said. “Every one of us should be angry right now and willing to stand up for our values, the values that have always made this country great. And anyone who is letting these MAGA autocrats get away with this needs to fight or get out of the way…”
“So if you're on your way to Maine right now, thank you. If you're standing up and fighting in your community, thank you. If you're doing everything to protect our values, thank you.”
Moulton then appeared to address the claim that the Colombian man, identified by his community as Joan Sebastian Guerrero, used his vehicle as a weapon. “Because he used his Prius as a weapon at half a mile per hour?” he asked. “That’s just an excuse to shoot someone.”
His comments drew backlash on X, with political commentator Tim Pool accusing Moulton of incitement.
“Seth Moulton is calling for people to obstruct federal law enforcement, which is a crime,” Pool said. “Thanking people for showing up physically, telling them to fight and telling them to stop ICE means only one thing: violence and obstruction.”
Auron MacIntyre, host of The Auron MacIntyre Show on Blaze Media, also responded to Moulton on X.
“ICE agents killing violent immigrants who try to kill them is good, actually,” he said.
Moulton’s comments come as federal officials face growing scrutiny over ICE enforcement tactics following the Biddeford shooting. The Department of Homeland Security said Guerrero attempted to flee in his vehicle and that the ICE officer fired because he feared for public safety. However, critics, including Moulton, have questioned whether the use of deadly force was justified, pointing to conflicting accounts of the encounter.
The shooting also prompted ICE to temporarily halt most vehicle stops during immigration enforcement operations while the incident is investigated by federal and Maine authorities.
