Police released video on Monday afternoon at a press conference of the fatal shooting of Dwain Williams, a retired lieutenant with the Chicago Fire Department.

Williams, aged 64 and a father of four, was stopping to get some popcorn at a place he loved in Morgan Park when three out of the four suspects got into his car in an attempted carjacking (the fourth suspect is driving the car and can't be directly identified in the video). A firefight ensued which left Williams dead.

Speaking to local news, Brendan Deenihan, Chicago Police Chief, is asking people to "slow the video down, look at it carefully, and to let them know if they recognize any of the suspects."

He also mentioned that "this has worked before," referring to showing video footage to the public and having people come forward with needed information.

"We just want justice for the family. Here it is, he was trying to get some popcorn and his life was taken over a vehicle,"said Early Walker, a community activist who also helped raise reward money in attempt to help justice be done in this disturbing case.

Carjackings are up 134 percent from this time in 2019 in Chicago, with an astonishing 1025 such incidents having occurred so far in 2020.

Anybody who has any information regarding this case is asked to please call Chicago's Area 2 Detective Division at 312-747-8271 or leave information at cpdtip.com. Both options can be anonymous.
