An upcoming book by New York Times writer Katie Rogers describes a time when First Lady Jill Biden scolded her husband, President Joe Biden, and his aides for allowing him to stumble through a long press conference in 2022.

The revelation comes after President Biden held a press conference on Thursday evening in which he had several mental errors after his mental abilities were brought under high scrutiny.

According to an excerpt from the book "American Woman" obtained by Axios, the incident happened on Jan. 19, 2022, when the president held a nearly two-hour press conference in which he made several mistakes.

Rogers wrote, "She had watched the news conference, and the look on her face told everyone in the room — from the president on down — that they had some explaining to do." Rogers noted the first lady demanded to know, "Why didn't anyone stop that?"

"Everyone stayed silent, looking at one another, and then at her, and back to one another. That included the most powerful man in the world," the excerpt added. "Her husband essentially played along, not offering an answer, even though aides had slipped him a card suggesting he end the press conference."

"Where was the person who was going to end the press conference?" Jill asked the aides.

The recent Thursday conference was hosted to respond to a Special Counsel report that the president had had a "poor memory" and wouldn't be charged for mishandling classified documents because of it.

Several Republican Senators and House members have since come out to call for President Biden to be removed from office under the 25th Amendment.

"Joe Biden must resign," Rep. Mary Miller (R-IL) said in a post on X. "He could not remember basic facts about his life. He is not competent to remain as Commander-in-Chief & every day that he remains, he puts America at risk. If he won't resign, the Cabinet must invoke the 25th Amendment."

Others calling for removal are Senators Mike Lee (R-UT) and Josh Hawley (R-MO), Reps. Marjorie Taylor Green (R-GA), William Timmons (R-SC), Mike Collins (R-GA), and Ronny Jackson (R-TX).

Katie Rogers's book "American Woman" is scheduled to be released on Feb. 27.
