On Wednesday, pro-Palestinian agitators formed a blockade on the main road to the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) which resulted in multiple arrests and irate holiday travelers exiting their vehicles and walking to the airport in a rush to make their flights.

The rioters demanded a "ceasefire" in Gaza. Authorities declared the demonstration an "unlawful assembly." The incident occurred around 10 am at the Century Blvd entrance on one of the busiest travel days of the year, according to LA Aiport PD.

Video footage shows anti-Israel protesters pulling objects off of the side of the road and placing them onto the main highway to form a blockade. This includes construction barriers, trash cans, traffic cones, stop signs, and other objects.

LAPD in riot gear were seen on video breaking up the illegal demonstration. Officers can be seen chasing protesters as they attempt to escape the scene.

Fox News reports that at least a dozen protesters were arrested on charges that include riot and attack on a police officer.

LAPD wrote about the incident on X and said: "The LAPD is aware of an ongoing protest within the LAX area. Traffic in the area is currently impacted. Please avoid the area and continue to monitor for updates."

The demonstration appears to be a coordinated nationwide effort as a similar incident occurred at the John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) earlier in the day.

Video posted to social media shows pro-Palestinian activists forming a blockade on the I-678 highway, impacting the entrance to the JFK International Airport on one of the busiest travel days of the year. They arrived with Palestinian flags and formed a human chain in front of vehicles as they demanded a "ceasefire" in Gaza.

The incident began around 11:30 am and lasted for approximately 20 minutes before officers with the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey's police department arrived on the scene to break up the demonstration. A spokesperson for the Port Authority told the Messenger that 26 arrests were made on various offenses.

The Los Angeles Airport Police announced an hour later that the westbound entry had been re-opened.

"Update- westbound Century into @flyLAXairport is now open. No impacts to flights," the department said.

This is a developing story and will be updated.
