Woodyard targeted Megyn Doyle and Ava Kwan, the chapter's treasurer and outreach coordinator, respectively, for removal from their positions within the organization.
Woodyard uses her position within the university "to create inclusive and meaningful opportunities for students." She also manages leadership development programs and services throughout the university and focuses on women's empowerment.
Doyle launched a petition to remove Bray due to his affiliation with Antifa, a militant, multi-faceted international protest group that advocates for anarchy, chaos, and an end to capitalism and America. The proceeds from Bray's "Antifa: The Anti-Fascist Handbook," were earmarked for Antifa. He has since fled to Spain.
Bray is part of the Black Rose Anarchist Federation, was part of the G20 protests in Germany, and was involved with Occupy Wall Street as well. "It’s true that sometimes the law holds back Trump and affords us some semblance of safety. But the more we lean into the law as our shield, the more powerful it will become as a sword when Trump changes it in his favor and wields it against us. Only mass antifascism, legal or not, can save us," said Bray in a post.
The email from Woodyward, obtained by Fox News, claimed that neither student was eligible to retain their positions. "I wanted to bring to your attention that Megyn is a Newark student and Ava is a graduate student," said Woodyard to Rutgers TPUSA Chapter President Stephen Wallace and Chapter Vice President Victoria Sorbat.
"Because your organization is classified as an undergraduate student organization for the New Brunswick campus, both individuals are ineligible to hold executive board positions within your group," Woodyard said, hinging her argument on that technicality.
"Please proceed with holding elections for those positions in accordance with your organization’s constitution to ensure compliance with university and student organization policies. Please let me know when this is done," she said.
