Sen Laphonza Butler says Kamala Harris 'learns new things every single day' in defence of her flip-flopping views

California Senator Laphonza Butler recently addressed concerns about Vice President Kamala Harris' changing positions on key issues during an appearance on CNN’s "State of the Union" with Dana Bash.

“What do you think that voters should think when she has reversed herself on several issues in the last four years?” Bash asked Butler.

“I think that voters should think that she’s a human being who learns new things every single day,” Butler responded.

During the interview, Bash pointed out several policy reversals from Harris since her 2020 presidential campaign, including her stance on the "defund the police" movement, decriminalizing border crossings, supporting Medicare for All, and banning fracking. Harris, who had supported these positions in 2020, has since moderated her views on them as she runs for president after her boss Joe Biden quit the race.

Harris' campaign has attempted to walk back several radical policies she supported during her 2020 presidential run. Banning fracking, for example, has been a major policy she has attempted to revise in recent days due to its importance in crucial Rust Belt swing states like Pennsylvania, where the industry is prominent.

In 2020, Harris stated there was “no question” she was in favor of banning fracking. Because of this, former President Donald Trump has repeatedly brought this up in his rallies. In a recent rally in North Carolina, he said, “She wants to ban fracking.”

“You’re going to be paying a lot of money. You’re going to be paying so much. You’re going to say ‘bring back Trump,’” Trump added.

Following Trump’s comments, a Harris campaign spokesperson responded by calling his claims false, indicating that Harris has reversed her position.

“Trump’s false claims about fracking bans are an obvious attempt to distract from his own plans to enrich oil and gas executives at the expense of the middle class,” the spokesperson said.

Harris’ continual flipping on several radical policies she has supported in the past has resulted in Trump giving her the nickname “lyin’ Kamala.”

Yep, every day is a new day for Harris. Her brain is like a sieve. A very coarse sieve.
