Senator Loeffler ready to formally condemn Pelosi

Kelly Loeffler, the Republican Senator from Georgia, has indicated that she is ready to pass a resolution in the Senate specifically condemning Nancy Pelosi, the Speaker of the House.

The resolution targets Pelosi because of her recent attempt to, in Loeffler’s words, “Politicize the 25^th Amendment.”

“Today’s announcement by Speaker Pelosi is just her latest scheme to attack President Donald J. Trump. From the day President Trump was sworn in, Nancy Pelosi has tried to overturn the results of the 2016 election,” Loeffler said in a separate statement.

Pelosi’s bill proposes the creation of a special commission to monitor the ability of a standing president of the US to govern the country effectively. In the case of the commission finding against a president, the 25^th Amendment would be invoked.

Pelosi claims, "This is not about President Trump. He will face the judgment of the voters, but he shows the need for us to create a process for future presidents."

Many speculate that the efforts to create a 25^th Amendment process are intended to remove Joe Biden from office and position Kamala Harris in his place, should he win the election in November.

Loeffler claims that Pelosi’s words are disingenuous, saying, “From the Russia collusion hoax to the sham impeachment and now the 25th Amendment farce, Nancy Pelosi has disgraced the office of Speaker in a desperate attempt to rig the system and seize power. If she is still serious about holding office, she should put a mask on, hit the salon and respect the election results when Donald Trump is re-elected for four more years.”

Pelosi is accused in the non-binding resolution of trying to influence the coming presidential elections in November, as well as setting a “dangerous precedent for the constitutional system of Government in the United States.”
