Terrorist Shamsud-Din Jabbar, who killed 15 and injured dozens more by ramming an electric truck into a crowded New Year's party in New Orleans, said on videos he recorded while driving from Houston to New Orleans to carry out his deadly mission that he had previously planned to kill his family and had joined ISIS, authorities have found.

Jabbar, the deceased 42-year-old terrorist who was killed during a shootout with police, discussed the plans to kill his family in videos obtained by authorities, according to CNN. President Joe Biden mentioned these videos in his address to the nation from his Camp David vacation. Officials close to the investigation told the outlet that Jabbar made the recording during his drive in the rented Ford truck to Louisiana from Texas.

Jabbar previously served in the US Armed Forces and had converted to Islam but was reportedly radicalized. The videos reportedly made reference to his divorce, and he said that he had planned to organize a false "celebration" in order to kill his family members. He is survived by two daughters and an ex-wife who has since remarried.

"Jabbar said in the videos that he changed his plans and joined ISIS and referenced several dreams that he had about why he should be joining the terrorist group, according to the officials," CNN reported.

Prior to the terror attack in New Orleans, he had prepared IEDs at an Airbnb near the attack site, according to the Daily Mail. Jababr's brother said that Jabbar converted to Islam at a young age and that "what he did does not represent Islam."

"This is more some type of radicalization, not religion," Jabbar's brother said.

As of Thursday morning, authorities have been investigating if there is a connection between the attack from Jabbar and an explosive attack reportedly perpetrated by Matthew Livelsberger outside of the Trump hotel in Las Vegas. Livelsberger was the sole faality in the incident in which he blew up a rented Cybertruck that blew up, injuring seven bystanders. Authorities found fireworks and containers for gasoline in the explosion's aftermath. Livelsberger and Jabbar reportedly served at the same military base.

This is a developing story.
