"We have moved our headquarters to Miami, Florida."

Tech and AI firm Palantir has moved its headquarters to Miami, much like many other tech firms have in recent months as there has been a migration of companies to the Sunshine State. Palantir, which had previously been located in Denver, Colorado, made the announcement about the move on Tuesday.

"We have moved our headquarters to Miami, Florida," the official Palantir account posted to X. The company, which was founded originally in Silicon Valley by Peter Thiel, Alex Karp, and others, moved to Denver in 2020. Palantir builds software that is consistently used by defense agencies, intelligence teams, large enterprises, and others. Thiel already has an established base in Miami.

The move from Palantir adds more weight to the pitch from Florida of lower taxes, a more business-friendly environment, and an increasing number of business leaders to network with. In recent years, Miami has welcomed an increasing number of billionaires. Recent reports revealed that Meta founder Mark Zuckerberg decided to make the move from California to Miami. In May of 2025, Miami was named America’s fourth-largest startup hub, and had a tech ecosystem valued at $1.7 trillion across numerous AI ventures.

In a 2020 letter, Alex Karp explained their move from California to Denver. “Our company was founded in Silicon Valley,” he said in the letter. “But we seem to share fewer and fewer of the technology sector’s values and commitments." The move from Palantir comes as other tech firms and billionaires are fleeing California, as a one-time 5 percent wealth tax has been floated as policy in the state.
