"We do have a plan to stop this process, and the plan begins with the Biden administration finally securing the border," said Gov. Abbott to Bill Hemmer of FOX's America's Newsroom program when asked if there was a plan of action to halt the bussing of migrants out of Texas.
"Remember this, it was just two years ago, we had the fewest border crossings in decades because the Trump administration was enforcing the immigration laws," the governor continued. "All Biden has to do is replicate what Trump did, and that would lead to a reduction in border crossings, and that would lead to the elimination of us bussing people across the country."

Texas Governor @GregAbbott_TX on bussing illegal aliens: “We do have a plan to stop this process and the plan begins with the Biden administration finally securing the border.”
In June, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre claimed in a press conference that "the border is closed."
However, the Biden administration's actions align more with a border that is open.
When President Biden took office in 2021, he reversed a number of Trump-era border policies, and announced plans for a more humanitarian approach to illegal immigration. It is estimated that nearly 5 million illegal aliens have entered the US since Biden took office.
Gov. Abbott's statement comes as he faces criticism from Democrats for not harboring illegal immigrants, including Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez saying that he should step down from his position after he successfully bussed another 100 migrants to DC. In total, more than 7,400 migrants have been bused to the nation’s capital, and over 1,500 have been sent to New York City, according to the governor’s office.
I remember how folks stepped up to help Texans when you left them cold and hungry during the freeze.— Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (@AOC) September 16, 2022
We will welcome these families too. They have so much to offer.
You do seem to be struggling at your job, though. Maybe you should consider if this is the right work for you. https://t.co/DEwHdWwzi6
"Maybe you should consider if this is the right work for you," the socialist New York congresswoman tweeted.
The most recent buses from TX arrived at DC's Naval Observatory, which is just outside of Vice President Kamala Harris's residence.
