'The most conservative generation of young men in 50 years': Charlie Kirk, TP Action see huge turnout on American campuses

"Young men are profoundly more conservative than people would have expected and, in fact, are the most conservative generation of young men in 50 years. They want to be part of a political movement that doesn’t hate them."

Turning Point Action and Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk has been touring college campuses across the nation, registering voters and engendering support for GOP nominee Donald Trump. Stops have included Penn State, the University of Georgia, and many others. Young voters, and young men especially, have turned out at the events in large numbers to support the former president.

Common knowledge would tell you that a college campus would be the last place to see lots of support for the GOP, however, the tide may be shifting, in part due to Kirk's tour across the nation with Turning Point Action's "You're Being Brainwashed" tour, which has had lots of turnout at campuses.

Vanity Fair reported that Kirk, since he started TPUSA in 2012, has been at the "tip of the spear when it comes to mobilizing young voters to the conservative cause." The outlet covered Kirk's latest visit to the University of Georgia in Athens, and had a lot to say about the amount of young men turning out for the events to support Trump.

The TP Action founder told reporters, “Young men are profoundly more conservative than people would have expected and, in fact, are the most conservative generation of young men in 50 years. They want to be part of a political movement that doesn’t hate them. Those are their words, not mine. The cultural blob of all left-wing influence has definitely had an undertone that if you’re a straight, white, Christian male, that there’s something wrong with you. Or you must apologize. Or you’re a colonizer.”

“Gen Z could impact this entire election,” Kirk added. “And it has received disproportionately little attention, considering [that fact].”

Kirk was seen throwing MAGA hats to a crowd of college students and he took questions at the University of Georgia, encouraging those opposed to the GOP to come up and ask tough questions at the “prove me wrong” booth.

Kirk has seen huge turnout for not just Georgia, but for multiple college campus events across the United States. Kirk and TP Action even made a stop in Montana in an effort to get young voters out to support Tim Sheehy, a GOP challenger to Democratic Senator Jon Tester.

After Georgia, the next stop for Kirk is Grand Canyon University in Arizona. The team has been focusing on college campuses in swing states in the weeks leading up to the election in an effort to get more young people, a voter bloc that historically has poor turnout, out to vote at the polls.

The events have a similar format, and include a booth with Kirk taking questions, voter registration, and other activities.

Trump, as well as Harris, has attempted to get the campaign message out to young men, however, despite the best efforts of the Democratic nominee, more young voters aged 18-24, in their prime college years, are identifying as more conservative than liberal. This is also more pronounced in young men where 26 percent of young males identify as conservative and only 22 percent as liberal.

Although common knowledge would say that Harris will win the overwhelming majority of those in Gen Z, Kirk saw it differently. “I think it’s going to be way closer than people think," he said, especially in regards to young men.

“It’s going to be hard for Trump to win on these campuses and get a majority,” Kirk told Vanity Fair, however he said that the younger generation of voters, especially men, will come out in support of Trump in larger numbers than before, even if the majority of Gen Z does not go for the GOP.
