After the US Supreme Court ruled in favor of presidential immunity on Monday, Donald Trump wrote in response that the decision from the justices ended "all of Crooked Joe Biden's Witch Hunts against" him and that all "unfair charges" against him should be dropped. The Court ruled that "the nature of Presidential power requires that a former President have some immunity from criminal prosecution for official acts during his tenure in office. At least with respect to the President’s exercise of his core constitutional powers, this immunity must be absolute. As for his remaining official actions, he is also entitled to immunity."

"TOTAL EXONERATION! It is clear that the Supreme Court's Brilliantly Written and Historic Decision ENDS all of Crooked Joe Biden's Witch Hunts against me, including the WHITE HOUSE AND DOJ INSPIRED CIVIL HOAXES in New York," Trump wrote.

"All of these Unfair Charges represent the WORST level of Election Interference ever seen in our Country's long and storied History. It must be understood, that I was Totally and Completely Innocent from the beginning of this Giant and Highly Illegal Scam, long before the Supreme Court's Decision was released. The impact of the Immunity Ruling is a loud and clear signal for Justice in the United States. I AM PROUD TO BE AN AMERICAN!" he concluded.

In the opinion, the Court ruled, "Certain allegations—such as those involving Trump's discussions with the Acting Attorney General—are readily categorized in light of the nature of the President's official relationship to the office held by that individual. Other allegations—such as those involving Trump's interactions with the Vice President, state officials, and certain private parties, and his comments to the general public—present more difficult questions."

Chief Justice Roberts further stated that "The judgment of the Court of Appeals for the DC Circuit is vacated, and the case is remanded for further proceedings consistent with this opinion." The question is if Trump acted in his official capacity on January 6, 2021, in the case brought against him by Jack Smith and in other legal cases.

The ruling could undermine Smith’s case. Additionally, after a motion filed by Trump in his NYC case, Judge Juan Merchan has pushed back the sentencing date for Trump to Sept. 18 as opposed to the original July 11. The original date had been a few days before the Republican National Convention. Trump may not face sentencing in that case at all as a result of the ruling.
