Mara wrote, "haven't stopped crying since an hour ago. my balls hurt so bad."
In a caption over a picture of a picture of the upset trans-identified male crying in the airport's restroom, Mara, who boasts of being a "trans child of divorce" on Twitter, wrote "hi so a tsa agent at jfk airport punched me in the genitalia, yelled at me for having a penis (?) and humiliated me in front of everyone after i told her to please stop."
According to the upset jetsetter, the TSA agent then "followed me into the women's bathroom and began talking about me to a coworker while I sobbed in a stall."
In a follow-up tweet, Mara wrote, "haven't stopped crying since an hour ago. my balls hurt so bad."
A JFK Airport spokesperson responded to the complaint, writing "Hi Mara, thank you for bringing this matter to our attention. On behalf of the John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) community, please accept our apologies for your recent experience while traveling through our facility."
"Your comments have been shared with our airport management, airport security department and TSA partners," they added, before asking about the agent's description.
In screenshots from Mara's now-private account, the disgruntled traveler wrote, "terminal 7 at the leftmost tsa line around 3:13 pm on march 25, 2023. The agent was around 5'6, african american, and around 35-40 years old. She left her post to follow me to the bathroom around 3:18 pm. she left the bathroom by 3:21 pm with another woman (her coworker)."
As the New York Post reported, Mara also wrote in another post that Mara did not want the TSA agent to be fired, but wanted "her educated and the entirety of tsa abolished altogether."
Twitter users expressed a range of responses, including disbelief that the story ever happened and sorrow for the TSA woman who allegedly touched male genitalia when she didn't expect to.
"Clearly never happened, in a world filled with cell phone cameras," wrote one commenter." Pro tip: if you're pretending to not have a penis, it's pretty normal for people to be surprised when they find one."
"To be fair the TSA Agent probably wasn't expecting to find a package in an area that wasn't supposed to be there on someone claiming to be a specific gender unless the tsa agent was notified beforehand," wrote another.
After the story went viral, Mara locked their Twitter profile.
