Amidst the ongoing chaos in Afghanistan as the Taliban takes over the capital city of Kabul, former President Donald Trump called on President Joe Biden to resign from office on Sunday.
"It is time for Joe Biden to resign in disgrace for what he has allowed to happen to Afghanistan, along with the tremendous surge in COVID, the border catastrophe, the destruction of energy independence, and our crippled economy," wrote Trump in a Sunday statement.
"It shouldn't be a big deal, because he wasn't elected legitimately in the first place," Trump added.

On Sunday, the Taliban took over the capital city of Kabul, with Afghanistan President Ashraf Ghani fleeing the country for Tajikistan.
As a result, the Pentagon has authorized an additional 1,000 troops to be deployed to Kabul to aid in evacuations, raising the number of troops in the country to 6,000.
