Trump said he wants "a real end" to the conflict and for a "complete give-up" on the part of Iran.
While speaking to reporters on Air Force One and being asked about a ceasefire, Trump said, “I’m not asking for a ceasefire, we’re looking at better than a ceasefire."
He followed up, saying that he wants "a real end" to the conflict and for a "complete give-up" on the part of Iran.
In a Truth Social post early Tuesday morning, Trump added, "I have not reached out to Iran for 'Peace Talks' in any way, shape, or form. This is just more HIGHLY FABRICATED, FAKE NEWS! If they want to talk, they know how to reach me. They should have taken the deal that was on the table - Would have saved a lot of lives!!!"

The post from the president came after French President Emmanuel Macron claimed that Trump had reached out to broker a deal. On Monday evening, Trump also called for everyone to "immediately evacuate Tehran," and that Iran cannot get a nuclear weapon.
"Iran should have signed the 'deal' I told them to sign. What a shame, and waste of human life. Simply stated, IRAN CAN NOT HAVE A NUCLEAR WEAPON. I said it over and over again! Everyone should immediately evacuate Tehran!"
The call from the US president for Iran to give up on the conflict comes after Israel has been able to take out numerous top military leaders in the past few days after the attack started last week. Iran has responded by launching ballistic missiles at Israel, however, most of them have been intercepted by the Iron Dome, with around two dozen being killed.
