Donald Trump slammed the liberal and corporate media outlets that ran wall-to-wall negative coverage of the record-setting X Spaces conversation between himself and Elon Musk on Monday night. Most of the headlines highlighted the brief technical difficulties, which likely stemmed from the number of listeners trying to access the live interview, and reduced the two-hour, wide-ranging conversation as nothing new and a "ramble."

“I spent 2 1/2 hours last night talking to Elon, a fantastic guy, getting all-time record Views/hits," Trump said, "and all the Fake News wants to report is that the servers crashed (because of the tremendous volume!), and the show opened a little late. What they should be reporting was the incredible number of people that were listening. I absolutely HATE the Fake News Media. So bad for our Country!"

Users on X gathered and posted headlines from media outlets that all sent similar messages about the interview, with headlines saying it was an "unmitigated disaster" and that Trump "repeated the same old talking points" with a "lisp." Musk posted the headlines and said, "A wall of negative headlines was so predictable. They’re such NPCs," adding, "All this does is drive even more people to listen to the conversation themselves and realize how much the legacy media lies to them!"

It was later reported that the "lisp" was a result of Spaces compression.

Despite the negative headlines and press from the corporate and left-wing media outlets, Trump and Musk covered a wide range of topics such as illegal immigration, inflation, deregulation of the energy industry, foreign wars, articficial intelligence, as well as a potential government efficiency commission, which Musk volunteered to be on during the two-hour exchange.

Over one million people tuned in to hear the spaces live, and over 24 million have listened to the recording as of Tuesday afternoon. Although the spaces got off to a rocky start, Musk said that the delay had been caused by a distributed denial of service (DDOS) attack on the stream. Musk has also extended the invite to Vice President Kamala Harris to do a similar interview.
