"She answers questions like a child. This is not a president."
Donald Trump sat down with Ben Shapiro on Tuesday, telling the political commentator that Kamala Harris "answered questions like a child" when she was in her 60 Minutes interview this week. The Democratic nominee was heavily criticized by others afterwards for dodging questions.
"I watched her. I got to watch it last night, 60 minutes. And she answers questions like a child. This is not a president. She's answering questions in the most basic way and getting killed over it. And every time she does an interview, she sounds like a child," Trump told Shapiro.
During her interview on Monday with 60 Minutes, Harris failed to account for different policy failures during her administration. Topics of the discussion included the border as well as the economy. In addition to the lackluster answers on those policy positions, many were critical of what some have called a "word salad" answer when Harris gave her answer on the conflict in Israel.
Trump added in his conversation with Shapiro, that Biden is "so angry at her, and she's trying to distance herself" from him.
"She doesn't want anything to do with him. And, you know, it was a coup to start off with. Okay, so he's not exactly thrilled with that, but I actually think, I actually think [Biden would] be doing as well as [Harris]," Trump added.
The GOP nominee added that he believes Harris' "honeymoon period" is also over now that things in the race have picked up. "She had her honeymoon period, now she's supposed to be doing things, and you know you're supposed to be doing and she's not. She's not. She's just doing a terrible job. And she's doing a terrible job of the storms, these hurricanes that are coming in, and they are big ones, and just totally missing in action and always doing the wrong interview at the wrong time.:
Trump may be alluding to the "Call Her Daddy" episode with Harris last Tuesday, which was one of the days in the immediate aftermath of Hurricane Helene as well as the day that Iran was bombing Israel.
