Trump to champion a 'revolution of common sense' in inauguration speech

Incoming President Donald Trump will be calling for a "revolution of common sense" during his inaugural address today as he is sworn into office as the President of the United States. Trump is also expected to sign a sweeping number of executive orders during his first day in office.

According to the Wall Street Journal, during Trump's speech he is expected to tell Americans, "I return to the presidency confident and optimistic that we are at the start of a thrilling new era of national success. A tide of change is sweeping the country. My message to Americans today is that it is time for us to once again act with courage, vigor and the vitality of history’s greatest civilization."

The speech will be taking place indoors after freezing temperatures in Washington DC moved the inauguration into the US Capitol. He is then expected to sign a slew of executive orders that will start making deportations of illegal immigrants in the US, secure the border, curb DEI policies in the federal government, and push to unleash energy in America.

Trump has enjoyed a wide coalition of support as he heads into office for the second time, and has hit a record high in his favorability rating. On Sunday, Trump promised that he would “act with historic speed and strength and fix every single crisis facing our country."

Ahead of Trump's rally on Sunday evening, thousands of supporters were in line wrapping around multiple blocks to see the president. By the time Trump took the stage to speak to his supporters, the Capital One Arena was at max capacity with thousands getting turned away.
