Trump will reinstate his previous "Remain in Mexico" policy that was ended by the Biden administration.
According to a report from Fox News, Trump is expected to sign the orders the day he is sworn into office on Inauguration Day. An official told the outlet that the orders will end "Catch and Release" policies with immigration, eliminate the electric vehicle mandate put in place by President Joe Biden, pause off-shore land leases, withdraw the United States from the Paris Climate Accords, and take many steps to curb back the federal bureaucracy.
There will also be many "omnibus" executive orders that he is expected to sign that contain multiple actions in one document. The official told Fox News, "The president is issuing a historic series of executive orders and actions that will fundamentally reform the American government, including the complete and total restoration of American sovereignty."
Trump will also reportedly reinstate his previous "Remain in Mexico" policy that was ended by the Biden administration. Additionally, he plans to "fully unleash" energy projects in Alaska, one of the more oil-rich states in the nation.
On Sunday night, according to CNN, Trump looked over "close to 100" executive orders that he will be signing on Monday. "Within hours of taking office I will sign dozens of executive orders — close to 100 to be exact — many of which I will be describing in my address tomorrow,” Trump told attendees at a pre-inauguration dinner. “We will not waste a single moment in delivering on our promises to the people."
He added, “With the stroke of my pen I will revoke dozens of destructive and radical executive orders and actions of the Biden administration, and by this time tomorrow, they will all be null and void." Those attending the dinner included SpaceX CEO Elon Musk as well as Amazon founder Jeff Bezos.
In order to curb DEI policies in the federal government, the executive orders will include actions to strengthen the president's control over senior officials in the executive branch agencies and implement a merit-based hiring system. Additionally, he will be implementing actions to get federal employees working remotely to get back at the office.
