“This new framework will substantially increase the UAE’s existing investments in the U.S. economy in AI infrastructure, semiconductors, energy, and American manufacturing."
According to Reuters, the Trump White House told reporters on Friday about the commitment that the UAE has made as there have been other large investments into AI and technology in America. This comes after Trump met with UAE national security adviser Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed in the Oval Office earlier this week to discuss the plan, where Cabinet members as well as Vice President JD Vance were also present.
"This new framework will substantially increase the UAE’s existing investments in the U.S. economy in AI infrastructure, semiconductors, energy, and American manufacturing," the White House said on Friday announcing the deal with the UAE.
Under the deal, UAE will invest alongside US-based Energy Capital Partners for the project. $25 billion of the funds will be going to energy infrastructure as well as data centers, the White House official said.
XRG, which is the UAE's international arm for investment for UAE's energy company ADNOC, has also said that it will be investing in NextDecade, a liquified natural gas company out of Texas.
After Trump met with Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan earlier this week, he wrote in a Truth Social Post, "Tonight, in the White House, I warmly welcomed UAE National Security Advisor H.H. Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan to meetings and a dinner with many notable, senior U.S. officials."
"The evening demonstrated the long-standing ties and bonds of friendship between our countries. UAE and the U.S. have long been partners in the work to bring peace and security to the Middle East and the World. Discussions also included ways for our countries to increase our partnership for the advancing of our economic and technological futures," he added at the time.
