On Saturday, TPM's own Mia Cathell talked with host Jesse Kelly on his show about how the recent wave of violence against Asians in the US has nothing to do with so-called "white supremacy."

Kelly first points out an article written on Yahoo News, entitled: "White supremacy is the root of all race-related violence in the US."

Kelly then asks Cathell, tongue in cheek, "Did you know that white supremacists are out their prowling around in droves, hunting you and me down?"

Cathell replies:

"This critical race theory professor who wrote this article, it was for this academic paper, then [it was] published by Yahoo News .... claiming that you do not have to be white to promote white supremacy."

"... This is, of course, preposterous. It's no surprise that this critical race theory professor also teaches anti-racism courses. She instructs her students, upwards of 12,000 are enrolled in her curriculum, that you don't have to be white to perpetuate white supremacy."

"It's the white supremacist institutions and systems in America that have created this culture where Asians are seen as perpetual foreigners, blacks are seen as sub-class citizens that are denied unalienable rights. This, of course, is just bogus leftist theory."

Kelly then talks about the "really tough to watch internet videos" that have been circulating of attacks of "elderly people being horribly assaulted, violently. Can you please explain the 'white supremacists' who have been doing these things?"

"Yes, it actually points toward black assailants, not the so-called 'white oppressors'."

"Three elderly Asian citizens were assaulted in Oakland's historic Chinatown. There's also the 84-year-old Thai immigrant who was pushed to the ground and died at the hand of 19-year-old Antoine Watson. And CNN, three weeks after the incident occurred, still would not identify the suspect. They wouldn't say his name or race."

"It's actually blacks who are the biggest demographic pool that are targeting Asian victims. Whites [and] Asians are at the equal rate, attacking [people within there own communities]. In the same table, blacks are also attacking black victims at the highest percentage, 70 percent."

"These numbers dispute the lies perpetuated by BLM, 'Stop Asian Hate' movements. You know, they can't fathom the idea that minority groups can harbor anti-Asian animosity.

"Before, they were objecting to it, but now with this article circulating, it appears that the mental gymnastics have contorted past the breaking point, as the leftists are trying to cope with the ugly truth."
