While other countries around the world get back to work, Canada has consistently posted unemployment numbers higher than those of our allies, said Poilievre.

Conservative Shadow Minister for the Economy Pierre Poilievre took Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to task on Wednesday, criticizing the Liberal government for their inaction on the economy.

While other countries around the world get back to work, Canada has consistently posted unemployment numbers higher than those of our allies, said Poilievre.

"With unemployment a third higher than the G7 average, when will families have their paychecks back?" asked Poilievre.

Trudeau responded by saying that his government would have the backs of Canadians through programs such as the CERB.

Poilievre said that it was unrealistic for families to continue to live on a "measly" $2,000 cheque.

"They don't have multi-million dollar trust funds like he does," said Poilievre. "Why is it that workers abroad get paycheques while ours here at home get credit card debts?"

Poilievre finished by saying that in order for Canadians to get their jobs back, it was necessary for Trudeau to lose his job as prime minister.
