Canadian author Mark Steyn joined Fox News' Tucker Carlson on Wednesday and slammed comedians' rapid change in tone after New York governor Andrew Cuomo's recent resignation over sexual assault allegations.

While late night talk show hosts nearly idolized Governor Andrew Cuomo just a few months ago, with Stephen Colbert referring to the Cuomo brothers as "New York's most desirable men," the hosts rapidly changed their tone on Cuomo and acted as if they never supported him.

However, they said that their terrible "punch lines" towards Cuomo's sexual assault allegations prove they are holding back in order to bring less attention to the Democratic Governor's scandals.

"They turned it around in 10 minutes. They were full-blown 'Cuomosexuals' and now they're doing Cracker Jack material," Steyn said.

"What was that line that his writers wrote for him? Oh, 'Cuomo said he was going to step aside and then all the women took two steps aside.' It's amazing to me. They have like 37 writers on the writing staff and they met for hours and they tested those lines and that's the best they can come at," Steyn continued, slamming comedian Jimmy Fallon.

Carlson slammed late night talk show hosts for sucking up to people in power which has essentially left them humiliated.

"Comedy requires above all, independence and honesty. You can't be reading talking points from anybody. You have to be telling the truth about them. That's the whole point. And the second you start sucking up, you only humiliate yourself," Carlson said.

"Well, late night television, they've been sucking up to people in power for several years now. They haven't resigned their jobs because they pay well, but they do continue to humiliate themselves," Carlson added.
