A source says Whoopi Goldberg is "livid" after being suspended for claiming that the Holocaust was "not about race," and is considering quitting "The View."

On Monday, the actress claimed that the Holocaust, in which the white supremacist Nazi Party murdered 6 million Jewish people, was not about race. "Let's be truthful about it," she said, "because the Holocaust isn't about race."

After being suspended by ABC for two weeks over her comments, sources say Goldberg is upset, and threatening to leave "The View" altogether.

According to the New York Post, "a well-placed insider" close to Goldberg says the host is "livid" about her two-week suspension and feels "humiliated." She's now reportedly telling co-workers she is going to quit the show.

"She feels ABC executives mishandled this," the inside source told the New York Post. "She followed their playbook. She went on The Late Show With Steven Colbert and then apologized again on The View the next day."

The source added that while Goldberg has told multiple people that she is threatening to leave the daytime talk show, it is likely because "her ego has been hurt," and she is just trying to cope with the suspension.

Goldberg's comments on Monday came as the panel was discussing Maus, a Pulitzer Prize-winning graphic novel about the Holocaust that had recently been banned from class curriculum by a Tennessee school board.

On the very first page of Maus sits a quote from Adolf Hitler, who said himself, "The Jews are undoubtedly a race, but they are not human."

Goldberg's insinuation that the Holocaust was "not about race" drew ire from many, causing ABC to hand the 66-year-old comedian a suspension.

In a statement, ABC News president Kim Godwin wrote: "Effective immediately, I am suspending Whoopi Goldberg for two weeks for her wrong and hurtful comments. While Whoopi has apologized, I've asked her to take time to reflect and learn about the impact of her comments. The entire ABC News organization stands in solidarity with our Jewish colleagues, friends, family, and communities."
