In an attempt to get more Americans vaccinated, Amber Ruffin of the eponymous show and Broadway dancer James T. Lane performed a parody-remake of Bell Biv DeVoe's famous song "Poison," changing the iconic tune to try to convince the public that there is not "poison" in the coronavirus vaccine.

"The FDA recent approved Pfizer's COVID-19 vaccine, which is frickin' great news!" Ruffin said on the Friday night broadcast of the Amber Ruffin Show.

"Now, a lot of people felt skeptical because the emergency rollout didn't give enough time to thoroughly vet it," Ruffin said on Season 1, Episode 34 of the woke comedy late-night talk show. "Well, now they have. And you can relax knowing that there is no poison in the vaccine," Ruffin added.

Some of the song lyrics are as follows:

Girl I must warn you

I sense that you're causing lots of harm

Situation is serious

Let's cure it with two shots in the arm

It's all so ridiculous

Conspiracy theories seem from the start

It's all so deadly

They believe it cause they aren't very smart

It's driving me out of my mind

Common sense is hard for them to find

Fox news got into their heads

Misinformation (now some of 'em dead)

There is no poison

FDA approved it this time

There is no poison

The song goes on to warn on getting information from Facebook, instead urging Americans to seek information from "qualified medical professionals." "They're so smart. They have medical expertise," the song states. "You think you know better, b*tch please," the song adds.

Ruffin also examined "reparations" for black Americans on the episode. The series appears on NBCUniversal's video-streaming service Peacock. NBC ordered an additional 10 episodes in December 2020 and the show began its on-air broadcast in February. The first season holds a 100 percent critics rating on Rotten Tomatoes, compared to the 62 percent audience score.

The airing of the song comes as nearly 54 percent of Americans have gotten fully vaccinated, with 63 percent receiving at least one dose, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

In an effort to bolster vaccination rates across America, President Joe Biden announced on Thursday a six-pronged plan, which includes vaccination requirements for federal workers and companies with 100 or more employees.

Federal employees must get vaccinated, with no testing option, while those companies that have 100 or more employees will require a vaccination or weekly proof of a negative test. Numerous private companies have since fought back against the Biden administration's corporate vaccine mandate.

Conservative news outlet Daily Wire has stood up to Biden, declaring that it will not comply with the "unconstitutional and tyrannical" vaccine mandate.
