A new poll has revealed that a majority of Americans believe the Biden administration’s change to Title IX allowing biological males that identify as female to compete against women have had a harmful impact on female athletes.

The poll, conducted by McLaughlin and Associates in partnership with Summit.org of 1,000 likely general election voters, found that 77 percent of those who had an opinion believed that the changes to Title IX have had a "harmful impact to women’s sports and biological female athletes" Just 23 percent of that group said it was helpful.

Overall, 60 percent said the changes have been harmful, 18 percent said they were helpful, and 22 percent said they did not know.

Split by political party affiliation and their chosen 2020 presidential candidate, voters across the board said that the changes to Title IX were harmful to women’s sports.

Among those who voted for Trump in 2020, 82 percent said the changes were harmful, while 8 percent said they were helpful. Among Biden voters, 44 percent said the changes were harmful and 26 percent said the changes were helpful.

78 percent called the changes harmful compared to 42 percent of Democrats and 61 percent of independents, while just 11 percent of Republicans called it helpful, compared to 28 percent of Democrats and 15 percent of independents.

Women were more likely to call the changes helpful, at 23 percent compared to 12 percent of men, though a majority of women said the changes were harmful, at 53 percent compared to 68 percent of men.

"Corporate and government elites are trying to have it both ways. They say they support women, yet they refuse to say what a woman actually is and are pursuing policies that cause harm to women. In a very short period of time, a coordinated effort between the transgender industry, which profits from exploiting children and teens, and its allies in government have created a catastrophe for America’s girls and women, and it is only going to get worse," said Dr. Jeff Myers, President of Summit.org.

"Americans see this with absolute clarity and want it to stop. Our new book details how parents can get in front of the agenda that is behind the attack, protect their families with the truth, and debunk the lies perpetuated by the transgender industry."

In 2022, the BIden administration released proposed changes to Title IX, which "would make clear that preventing someone from participating in school programs and activities consistent with their gender identity would cause harm in violation of Title IX."

Under the proposal, barring biological males from female-only activities would be considered as causing actual harm, and would set the course for punitive actions for federally funded schools and colleges.

According to USA Today, the Education Department is set to make the rule public in May, after reviewing over 200,000 public comments regarding the proposal.
