911 dispatch call reveals Miami officers responded to 'suicide attempt' at Perez Hilton's home after TikTok reported live stream to authorities

After a shocking TikTok livestream on Tuesday evening in which celebrity streamer and blogger Perez Hilton appeared to cut himself countless times with a knife, newly reported dispatch audio has revealed that authorities spent around four hours responding to an apparent “suicide attempt.”

The audio, obtained by People, revealed that Miami authorities received reports of a “possible suicide” at Hilton’s address at around 6:51 pm. A police response to a “streamer known as Perez Hilton” was later described over the dispatch audio, just before 8 pm. Additional audio at around 10:41 pm described a “suicide attempt" at Hilton’s address, with police requesting assistance from fire services. 

Hilton’s home address was described as an “active police scene,” and shortly after the 10:41 pm audio, dispatch said authorities had “made entry” into the home. Responding units were “en route” to a local hospital at around 11:30 pm. TMZ reports that TikTok had also reported Hilton's live stream to the police and banned his account.

Surveillance footage obtained by Page Six showed cop cars arriving at the home at around 7:10 pm, with additional officers arriving 15 minutes later attempting to get inside. At one point, a deputy could be heard saying, “Mario, it’s the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office, please step out of the house.” Hilton’s real name is Mario Armando Lavandeira Jr.

The Miami-Dade County Sheriff’s Office confirmed to Page Six that authorities were dispatched after receiving multiple calls from concerned individuals regarding a person “livestreaming acts of self-harm on social media.”

The office said, “The individual has been safely recovered and transported by Miami-Dade Fire Rescue to a local hospital, where he is receiving medical attention. The Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office Crisis Response Unit and Licensed Mental Health Professionals are also on scene providing support and resources to the individual’s family.”

Hilton’s family similarly said that he was receiving medical treatment. “Many of you have reached out with concern for Perez, and we are incredibly grateful for the overwhelming outpouring of love, support, and prayers. We can confirm that Perez is receiving medical care, and our family’s focus right now is on his well-being.”

“We kindly ask that you respect Perez’s privacy, as well as the privacy of his family, during this difficult time. If and when we are able to share any updates, we will do so with everyone as soon as we can. Thank you for your compassion, understanding, and continued support,” the statement added. 

Reps for Hilton said on Tuesday, “At this time, we have not been able to make direct contact with him, despite our ongoing efforts to reach him. Our primary concern is Perez’s health and well-being, as well as the well-being of his family. Until we have confirmed information, we will not speculate or comment further.”

In an update on Wednesday, Hilton’s reps said, “At this time, we do not have any additional confirmed information to share regarding Perez Hilton’s condition. Our focus remains on Perez’s health, recovery and the privacy of both him and his family during this incredibly difficult time.” 

Hilton is the father of Mario, 13, Mia, 11, and Mayte, 8. Hilton was reported home alone at the time of the incident.
