Barron Trump 'very close' to putting faith in Christ, pastor says

A pastor has said that Barron Trump is “very close to putting his faith in Christ,” claiming that he was on the phone with President Donald Trump’s youngest son when he talked about the various points of evidence that support a belief in Christianity.

Pastor Stuart Knechtle was discussing the exchange on George Janko's faith-based podcast on Thursday when the topic came up.

“I thought I was hitting him with everything but the kitchen sink when it came to all the evidence for God and Christianity,” Knechtle said of the phone call that took place late in the evening. “I thought I was really on, I was pumped. And at the very end, I came up pretty much totally open-handed with nothing. But I brought up dreams and revelations."

Dreams and revelations are understood by some to be divine communication between God as well as those that believe in the Bible, and can communicate warning as well as other guidance. “I said, ‘Hey, look, Barron, I usually don’t go by this typically as evidence, but I have a friend over in Africa who witnesses thousands of Muslims coming to Christ through dreams and revelations. How do you explain that?’” the pastor continued.

Knechtle said that the younger Trump told him, “Oh, that’s a very, very interesting point, and you have eyewitness testimony...” and indicated that Barron tries to have everything in his mind line up consistently. “And that was the only thing that stuck with him,” Knechtle continued. “And he’s very close to putting his faith in Christ. Very close.”

Janko, the podcast host, interjected and said, “I pray that goes through.” Barron Trump, the youngest of the president’s children, has been relatively off the map publicly with respect to his religious beliefs. Many others surrounding Trump have openly embraced Christianity or, in the case of his daughter Ivanka, Judaism.
