The book claims "the modern history of Palestine can best be understood in these terms: as a colonial war waged against the indigenous population, by a variety of parties, to force them to relinquish their homeland to another people against their will."
In the book, Khalidi, who is of Palestinian and Lebanese descent, claims “the modern history of Palestine can best be understood in these terms: as a colonial war waged against the indigenous population, by a variety of parties, to force them to relinquish their homeland to another people against their will.”
Khalidi also said that President-elect Donald Trump’s first administration was a “mouthpiece” for Israel and claimed press coverage is slanted in favor of Israel. Khalidi slammed Trump for moving the US embassy to Jerusalem and recognizing Israel’s annexation of the Golan Heights.
Khalidi praised the First Intifada between 1987 and 1993 by Palestinian terrorists against Israel, which killed over 2,000 Israelis, including Christians and Muslims. He wrote, “The First Intifada was an outstanding example of popular resistance against oppression and can be considered as being the first unmitigated victory for the Palestinians in the long colonial war that began in 1917.”
Biden has been heavily criticized for lifting sanctions on Iran, and re-funding the Palestinian Authority knowing American taxpayer dollars would go to their “Pay-for-Slay” program, which rewards terrorists for killing Israelis. Both actions have been pointed to as factors that contributed to the Oct. 7, 2023 massacre of 1,200 Israelis and the kidnapping of 250 more.
Biden was photographed with the book only 3 days after reportedly forcing Israel into a ceasefire with Hezbollah. Critics claim that Biden threatened to withhold weapons shipments to Israel if Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu didn’t agree to the ceasefire. Earlier this year, the president paused shipments of 2,000-pound bombs to Israel. Biden has also upped his criticism of the Jewish state and Netanyahu and has even reportedly used expletives to describe the prime minister behind closed doors.
