Two men are dead and a woman seriously injured in Manhattan after a homeless man went with a knife began randomly stabbing people Monday morning, The New York Post reported.

The horror began at 8:20 am when a 51-year-old homeless man beckoned a 30-year-old man on West 19th Street near Eighth Avenue. As he approached, the killer put a knife in his stomach, police said. The victim, said to be a construction worker, was quickly taken to Bellevue Hospital but he was dead shortly after arrival, according to police.

About two hours later, the homeless man reportedly moved to East 30th St. near FDR Dr. where he proceeded to knife a second man, aged in his 60s, several times. He was taken to hospital but also died of his injuries, according to witnesses.

Then, just before 11 am the man stabbed his third victim, a woman, at East 42nd Street and First Avenue. She was stabbed multiple times and rushed to Weill Cornell Medical Center, where she remains in critical condition.

The suspect, a resident of the Bellevue Men’s Shelter, was arrested by police after several people saw a man covered in blood walking down the street. Both Mayor Eric Adams (D-NY) and NYPD chief of police Jeffrey Maddrey arrived on scene to conduct a news conference.

This is a breaking story.
